Meanwhile, people also praised Master Luo Cheng, and they all believed that he had a discerning eye. He had managed to discover such a genius.
“They surely had a secret deal.” However, sinister people couldn’t accept such a fact and weren’t willing to recognize it. They believed that the Sword Pavilion was afraid of offending Master Luo Cheng and just put on a show.
They didn’t have any proof for such a shameless claim, but the others also couldn’t provide a reasonable explanation for this matter, and so they had no power to refute the accusation. It would only be possible if Lu Ping managed to change in the Sword Pavilion. The people had high expectations of this.
In the Sword Pavilion, the teachers were fighting over Lu Ping, and they all wanted to become his teacher. There wasn’t any special reason behind this; they just found teaching such a talented person a delightful matter.
However, the Pavilion Master didn’t make a decision for a long while, and it was only the next day that he announced the name of Lu Ping’s teacher. It was Wu Ming, and this was a special name.
Wu Ming was an eccentric person who didn’t interact with anyone in the Sword Pavilion. Even though he was a teacher, he never taught any disciples. Most Sword Pavilion’s members believed that he was nothing more than a freeloader.
When the crowd heard such a decision, they couldn’t help but wonder whether Lu Ping had ended up with him because he offended someone. However, despite everything, Lu Ping, who was really Jiang Chen, was taken to meet his teacher.
“Don’t care about what other people say. The Pavilion Master managed to invite your teacher here only with great difficulty, and he said that he would only teach a single person, and that person must walk down the entire Sword Road.”
The Deputy Pavilion Master Deng Chen was worried that Jiang Chen would overthink this matter, and that was why he introduced the teacher to him. Upon hearing this, Jiang Chen became more curious about Wu Ming.
The Sword Pavilion wasn’t formed by a single building, and it seemed more like a manor house. When Jiang Chen came to the Sword Pavilion, he was greeted by magnificent sceneries.
Jiang Chen followed the Deputy Pavilion Master and went to a place behind the mountain. It was a secluded region, and there was a wooden house there.
“You must treasure this chance because you might manage to get a Sword Doctrine’s inheritance.” Deng Shen smiled mysteriously when he mentioned this matter, which no swordsman could refuse.
Jiang Chen’s expression changed drastically, and he recalled the rumor which he had heard. As long as one was talented enough, he could get the Sword Pavilion’s supreme Sword Doctrine. This was one of this pavilion’s charms.
Upon witnessing Jiang Chen’s reaction, Deng Chen revealed a satisfied smile. What Jiang Chen lacked most now was a Sword Doctrine suitable to him.
However, the Deputy Pavilion Master wasn’t aware of the fact that Jiang Chen was just considering how to let his magical clone inherit a new Sword Doctrine, and what would happen if he got two Sword Doctrines. Jiang Chen was really curious about this, and this was why his main body, which was in Tian Hu Hostel, questioned the Heavenly Palace’s Yue’e.
“I don’t know. Anything may happen,” Yue’e said.
“Okay!”
After the Deputy Pavilion Master left, Jiang Chen strode forward and went toward the wooden house.
The house’s door was half-open, and it opened by itself when Jiang Chen approached it. A formation was set outside the house carefully, and it wasn’t as simple and crude as the wooden house. The house’s floor was clean and didn’t have even a speck of dust on it, while the house didn’t have any furniture.
Jiang Chen took off his boots, walked inside, and looked around. He couldn’t see Wu Ming anywhere. All of a sudden, Jiang Chen detected something and turned around.
A tall person was standing in the entrance, and he almost occupied the whole door frame’s expanse. He was wearing black clothes like Jiang Chen, while his gray long hair fluttered in the wind. He had a resolute and dignified face, thick eyebrows, big eyes, and a beard.
When Jiang Chen was about to speak, the door closed by itself, and the inside of the wooden house went through a great transformation.
A Sword Formation was quietly activated. It was sharp and deadly, and an austere air engulfed the house.
For a moment, Jiang Chen couldn’t discern whether the man was testing him or trying to kill him. But, as if it was a second instinct to him, he observed the formation with the eyes of a Formation Master.
“Is it formation fused with a Sword Domain?”
Jiang Chen gritted his teeth. He couldn’t easily break the formation, and he took out the spirit swords bought by him and guarded himself against the teacher.
When the sword formation’s aura started rising, Jiang Chen was startled. The might of this sword formation exceeded the upper limit his magical clone could bear, and he couldn’t withstand it either by striving hard or challenging his limit.
Jiang Chen was forced to reveal the Immortal Sword Doctrine he had possessed from the beginning, and he used the Wind and Fire Swords Realm to persist and withstand the sword formation.
Just as Jiang Chen was about to go all out, the sword formation was suddenly deactivated, and the wooden house returned to normal.
“I was fooled by him!” Jiang Chen realized what had just happened. The man had managed to uncover Jiang Chen’s hidden cards.
Jiang Chen couldn’t help but wonder whether it was the Pavilion Master or Wu Ming who had discerned the truth. However, he wasn’t really worried too much about it because even if they discovered it, he wouldn’t suffer any loss.
“Regardless of how you try to constrain your Sword Doctrine, your instincts won’t forget it, and you won’t achieve the effect you desire.” A manly voice echoed from the door.
When the door was opened again, a bolt of black lightning flew toward Jiang Chen, and two interlocked fingers tapped his forehead. Jiang Chen felt like he had suffered a lightning strike. His soul was heavily injured, and he felt like something was stolen from his body. After several seconds, Jiang Chen inspected his body while gasping for breath.
“Where is my Sword Doctrine?” Jiang Chen discovered in fright that his Immortal Sword Doctrine and Fire Lore disappeared. It was like he was a painting, and both the Sword Doctrine and Fire Lore were erased from the painting without leaving any traces behind.
Jiang Chen’s main body in the tavern quickly inspected itself, and after Jiang Chen verified that his main body wasn’t affected, he heaved a sigh of relief.
“Now, even outstanding people can’t see through your disguise,” Wu Ming said. He brushed past Jiang Chen and sat on a chair.
“Is it because it doesn’t exist any longer?” Jiang Chen said, smiling bitterly.
“Isn’t that what you wanted?”
Upon hearing this, Jiang Chen became slightly nervous. He didn’t know how he should reply.
Jiang Chen was sure that this was their first meeting. Yet, it seemed like Wu Ming had seen through many of his secrets.
“Elder, are you doing it for my well-being?” Jiang Chen asked.
“What do you think it’s for?” Wu Ming asked earnestly.
“I don’t know,” Jiang Chen replied honestly.
“Weren’t you always clever?” Wu Ming revealed a faint smile.
“Elder, do you know me?” Jiang Chen asked curiously.
“Didn’t you ask for a meeting with me several times?”
Upon hearing this, Jiang Chen was taken aback at first. Then, his pupils grew wide as he figured out who this person was.
“Elder, you are Tian Hu Hostel’s owner, aren’t you?”
Wu Ming nodded.
Jiang Chen felt like life was marvelous! They had ended up meeting in such a manner.
“Elder, since you are here, how can you take care of Tian Hu Hostel?” Jiang Chen asked curiously.
“I’m still in Tian Hu Hostel,” Wu Ming said.
Jiang Chen furrowed his brows for a moment before he figured it out. The waiter was this elder’s clone or incarnation.
“Elder, you managed to discern it because we have the same Sword Doctrine, didn’t you?” Jiang Chen said.
“You are really clever.”
Jiang Chen rolled his eyes, and he felt like he suddenly understood why the owner didn’t want to meet him. Had he already expected to meet him here on this day?
“You have many doubts, while I also have many doubts. What should we do? You don’t ask, and I don’t dispel yours, while I won’t ask, and you won’t dispel mine. How about we have a heart to heart talk and trust each other?”
Jiang Chen understood the implication of his words. He wanted to take him as a disciple!
